Pirates versus mermaids - the performance

Pirates versus mermaids or should it be Skelton pupils versus the elements. After weeks of rehearsing in glorious sunshine , the heavens opened on the night of our performance. I need to say a huge thank you to all the parents for persevering  and showing  good humour in such  adverse weather conditions. Also thank you for all your fabulous contributions of costumes.

I was so proud last night. The resilience the children showed in such difficult circumstances was amazing. We have rehearsed so much, I have ranted and raved to get the show ready for an audience and it paid off in the end because despite the rumbling thunder, the torrential rain, the flashing lightning and the soggy scenery,  the children all remembered their lines, their dance moves, the songs and the timing of everything. Even when everything went completely pear shaped, the children came inside and finished off the last two songs and dances.

Although the rain spoiled the evening, it didn't spoil the performance and I hope you were really proud of your amazingly talented, soggy children. All the staff feel immensely proud. Well done Skelton.
